Due to its large, growing population and thriving business sector, Texas faces as many or more environmental challenges than most areas of the U.S. North Central Texas is second only to Houston in numerous pollution challenges. One meta study has found that the annual cost to North Central Texans may be as high as $1,900 or more per capita…almost $12 Billion annually.
TREES and its members take seriously the collective behavior that drives many of these challenges and is committed to helping area community leaders engage their citizens in meaningful programs leading to sustained improvements in air quality, beautification, energy conservation, litter abatement, water conservation and water quality issues, especially as they relate to the Trinity River and its watershed.
